Library Services

Book BorrowingRefers to the charging and discharging of library materials. Loan period differs according to material type.

Book Display. Recent acquisitions are displayed to inform the patrons of the new arrivals.

Library Orientation and InstructionRefers to teaching users the different sources of information, and how to use them, the services offered, and the people in the library.

Reference ServicesProvide assistance to users by giving answers to definite fact questions and provide information materials necessary for their research.

Resource-Sharing/Interlibrary LoansThe university is a member of a resource-sharing activity with four colleges and universities in Bohol. This will provide our library patrons opportunity to use or borrow library materials which are not available in BISU Library from partner-libraries through the librarians.

Stack ServiceLibrary patrons, who are unable to locate the sources of information, may ask for assistance from the library staff.

Term Paper ClinicFaculty and students who are working on their research , term papers, etc. may ask personal assistance from the librarian in identifying and retrieving relevant sources of information including bibliography making.

CD-ROM ServiceProvide CD-ROM access to students in the computer. The students can borrow CD-ROM collection for access in the library only.

Current AwarenessInforms the users regarding the current happenings of the environment/institution, which they may be helped to keep themselves currently aware through the use of bulletin board displays. This also includes general library publicity announcements, and general news items.

E-Library Services. These provide access of on-line databases and digital resources such as e-books, e-journals, and the like at the e-library section and the use of the WIFI facilities.

Viewing Room Services The library maintains a Viewing Room equipped with audiovisual materials and equipment. Faculty members can make reservation to view educational videos for their instructional aids. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Viewing and showing of educational videos, and tapes are free of charge.


The library is open ten and a half (10 ½) hours daily and no noon break daily except Saturdays.

Monday – Friday          :          7:30 AM – 6:00 PM (No Noon Break)

Saturday                       :           8:00 AM – 12:00 Noon

                                                1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
